Synopsis
The feature debut of fraternal writer-directors Wale and Akinola Davies adopts a dreamlike lens to explore the generational echoes of Nigeria’s complex history. Set in Lagos on the eve of the annulled 1993 election. The film follows Folarin, an estranged father who impulsively takes his sons on a day trip to Lagos. Political tension underpins a moving meditation on legacy, love, memory, and duty, illuminating the ties that bind family and nation. The film makes its own historical mark as the first Nigerian film to be screened in the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes.
