KIDS CORNER THE TIDE WALL
Children were invited to create prints using custom stamps inspired by the textures of Lagos — its woven fabrics, rippling waters, and city rhythms. Each impression became a personal gesture within a shared act of making. Together, these prints assembled on the “Tide Wall,” forming a flowing composition in the colours and contours of rising tides. This participatory gesture — printing as performance — transformed into a living mural, a collective expression that unfolds and evolves in real time.
“IMAGINING OTHERWISE" EXHIBITION
IIn the Kids Corner, this exhibition showcased the winning works of the ART X Lagos Schools’ Programme competition, where young artists responded to the theme “Imagining Otherwise, No Matter the Tide.”
Inspired by the methodologies of Nigerian masters J.D. ’Okhai Ojeikere and Bruce Onobrakpeya, the programme encouraged participants to see and build anew — to find beauty in the everyday and transform ordinary materials into acts of imagination and resulting creations that revealed a deep sensitivity to their environment and an inventive approach to form.
Together, these works stood as a collective vision of Lagos reimagined: a testament to creativity, resilience, and the power of young minds to shape the future through art.
